Burning Up!

Tonight I decided to skip class to go play volleyball at Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana. I live in Anaheim Hills, tucked in the corner of Orange County right by the 91 freeway. I got on the freeway at Weir Canyon Rd. and the freeway was completely clear since it was 9 pm. Suddenly, traffic completely halted, and I could see smoke and police lights up ahead. Quickly turning to KNX I heard that there was a fire on the freeway. Unfortunately I don’t know the details and my camera phone pic didn’t turn out at all, but from what I can tell a trailer caught on fire on the side of the freeway. I don’t think it was attached to a truck at the time, as it wasn’t when I got there. I think the halt in traffic was the arrival of the Fire Dept. on scene. I didn’t see any flames but I did see a lot of smoke, including a good amount before I rounded the bend and traffic stopped. It does seem that the truck was on fire for a decent amount of time as most of the siding was burned off, and the firemen were still spraying the trailer down with water. Hopefully no one was hurt. The authorities were still there when I drove back at around 11 doing an investigation. Fire isn’t something you expect to see on the freeway and especially not in this weather.
