Driving legally… but really bad…

So, I was driving home along the 55 freeway today… I’ve noticed that when you do that you have plenty of time to read. Every couple of minutes or so, you move your car up an inch. I keep hoping it’s the drive-through for Dairy Queen… but it’s not.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t read in my car – I don’t read anything inside my car, that is – I read the bumper stickers of the cars around me. I grimace at the “W-04” bumper stickers and hope they’re very happy, thank you. I like to find the funny ones so I can laugh, but when was the last time you saw one of those?

Then, I saw this old Dodge plastered with bumper stickers against illegal aliens getting drivers licenses. Now, I don’t know about you but I couldn’t care less about it. They’re here – let’s get some of their money as they steal our jobs… busing tables and washing cars. (They used to pick strawberries but I think we lost our last strawberry patch last summer.)

Now, I don’t know anyone who’s been hit by an illegal. I do know a few people who were hit by people without insurance, though, and wonder when that stopped being an issue. I’ve been hit a few times by very nice white people who made the “stupid face” as they walked out of their cars… one time, it was me.

Several minutes passed as I crept past this guy. And then, I noticed that his entire front end was mangled beyond recognition. As far as I can guess, this guy

“Then, I saw this old Dodge plastered with bumper stickers against illegal aliens getting drivers licenses.”

Where does one acquire such a bumper-sticker?

“Now, I don’t know about you but I couldn’t care less about it.”

You don’t care that our emergency rooms are so overwhelmed with illegal aliens that go to the ER for a cold or the flu that they are closing them down? You don’t care that YOU are required to have insurance but the illegal alien is never cited for not having any, nor a license? You don’t care that the road repair system that was designed to grow with the rate of tax-payers is lacking far past the point of keeping up with the influx of illegals that do not pay taxes?

“They’re here – let’s get some of their money as they steal our jobs… busing tables and washing cars. (They used to pick strawberries but I think we lost our last strawberry patch last summer.)”

Yeah, that huge license fee will pay for it all won’t it? And don’t give me the old line that they will pay for smog and registration. There is no law that states they can’t drive Mexico plate vehicles.

As for the busing tables, washing cars and pickle berries; Are you saying there are no non-hispanic workers that do any of that? Ever been to L.A.? You honestly believe that the ONLY jobs being taken are busing tables, washing cars and picking in the fields? Hmmm, ever been to a doctors office? Ever been to a county ER hospital? Ever been to a construction site? Ever been to grocery store, McDonalds, KFC, etc..??? Your ignorance of the facts is astounding to say the least.

“Now, I don’t know anyone who’s been hit by an illegal.”

Really? You need to get more often then. I have been hit three times. Twice from behind and once from the FRONT as the guy made an illegal left turn. All three times MY insurance went up because they DIDN’T have insurance. And this isn’t just about hispanics, the second hit from behind was from an Iranian here illegally (no license, false insurance docs, warrant for previous driving issues and the car had no registration {tags, plates, or VIN plates}. The police have their hands tied. They cannot arrest for not having a license, registered vehicle, insurance or the legal right to be in this country in the first place thanks to BS politics that protect anyone BUT U.S. citizens.
