Code Pink at the Orange Circle
While winding down from my day over at the Diedrich’s in Old Town, I was constantly hearing the honking of cars between every sip of my coffee. Normally, I would have been a little peeved; I mean the nerve of people to honk.
However, not tonight, the people had a perfectly good reason for it.
I was in totally agreement of the honking. Code Pink was hosting a semi-large gathering of around 15 to 20 people (I think Republicans call them protesters, while Democrats call them free speech advocates, I’ll leave that up to the readers to decide) holding signs against the war in Iraq. The honking was due to the signs that read “Honk for Peace.” Every couple seconds I could hear a horn honk as people drove around the traffic circle (And if I might add, the only one in Orange County).
If my car had a working horn, I would have been hitting it like crazy, but my thumbs up had to suffice.

I don’t think there are many people who wouldn’t “honk for peace”. The disagreement is usually about how peace is achieved.
I can imagine there are very few people honking for peace who are gung-ho about the war, though…
