Hurricane Katrina – It’s Personal

I’ve been consumed by the news from New Orleans and the Gulf Coast this week.

  • My sister lives in Mobile, AL, and remained at home during the hurricane. She’s fine. And dry. However, although she has telephone service, she is still without electricity. The heat and humidity are both high and unrelenting.
  • I am alumnus of Loyola University in New Orleans (photo).

Of course, I care deeply about my sister and my University.

Certainly, I’ve appreciated updates from the New Orleans Metro Bloggers.

The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities is posting news on Loyola University New Orleans – my undergraduate university.

Instapundit.com – has posted a list of charities.

New Orleans is a heavily Catholic city. Catholic Charities has a good sense of the city and its culture.

Craigslist
has become a major resource for information.
