So there we were at the Edwards Anaheim Hills, waiting to see “The Illusionist” with Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, and Jessica Biel. I was excited because we actually had some babysitting and were out for an afternoon on the town.

We get our tickets and walk into the appropriate theater.

Except, wait! I thought these new theaters had all stadium seating throughout!

Nope, we are stuck with the shitty regular seat theater, where I had to crane a bit to see around the puffy hair of the lady in front of me. Amazing how pampered we have become with those seats. I mean, for most of my life I dealt with the “old” style seating just fine. Now, I think my expectations are just too high. Once you are used to the stadium seating, you can never go back.

And, a side note to the woman who sat one chair away from me and ate noisily for a minimum 92 minutes of a 102-minute movie, including the credits. Honey, just because you are eating that whole tub of popcorn and the entire bag of M&M’s in the dark doesn’t mean they don’t count.

That has happened to me a ton of times. When they jacked up the ticket prices that was the last straw.

I now go to Cinema City, five bucks before five and all stadium seating.

Or I just bite the big one and drive up to the Arclight in Hollywood.
