The Orange Inquisition

Convert or be condemned to eternal damnation, or the unemployment line, whichever comes first.

Had they been ranked, I’m betting Meguiar’s Inc. would not have scored too well on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index. What a shame because it sounds like a really pleasant place to work (wink, nod). Of course I couldn’t work there, because I am too busy preparing for my descent to the fiery bowels of hell. I’ll be sure to pack lightly; it’s not the heat that gets you, it’s the humidity!

What is Meguiar’s Inc. you ask? They are a lovely little car wax company in Irvine that (allegedly) enjoys firing people who are not going to heaven. They claim all of this is just a “publicity stunt”. If it truly is a “stunt” then it’s a really dreadful one that serves no purpose. I ask you, what can be gained by a “stunt” of this nature?

That link didn’t work for me (requires registration). Try http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/news/state/16524375.htm

If true, this is disturbing, especially as someone adamant about their atheism. But let’s see what happens with the suit.

Thanks for the link Micahel (It didn’t work due to a period at the end, so I removed it for you). I forget some people don’t do the free registration thing.

As for the article, yes it is disturbing. Very disturbing.

Um, Mike remember this is Orange County and people run for the hills or want to burn you at the stake for being an agnostic/Atheist/freethinker/etc…

I think being burned at the stake is the wrong type of “on fire” for jesus.

But knowing me and my experiences, this doesn’t surprise me at all.

As someone who’s put himself in a position for some good ol’ fashioned hate from the less friendly Christians, I haven’t had very much at all. It’s mostly the little things like city council invocations that bother me. That said, I live in Santa Ana – south county might treat me differently. I should drive around with my most “specific” stickers and see about the result.
