Day Care in Central OC?

P3140030This adorable child of mine will soon be going to daycare, provided we can find one. And since we haven’t had much luck with recommendations in the past, I thought to ask the crowds here:

What’s a good daycare in Orange County, specifically in the Santa Ana/Tustin/Orange area?

Our daughter is almost 1, gets along great with other kids, and her only special needs consist of her requiring fairly regular feedings (every 3 hours) to counter a metabolic issue. We need a daycare that allows partial weeks (doesn’t charge a flat fee per 5-day week), but otherwise we’re pretty open. Who do you recommend? Who should we avoid? What’s better – large companies or smaller operations? Thanks for your help!

I’m in south county, so I can’t help with the central OC part. However, I definitely recommend going smaller rather than large for child care, primarily because your precious will be exposed to fewer germ vessels (er, other children) and therefore less likely to be sent home sick. That means you or your hub won’t have to miss work while you’re still paying for child care. The downside is that smaller operations may be less flexible, but I don’t necessarily believe that.

And, as a matter of personal opinion, the bigger operations always seem like factories to me. I’m sure many would like to skewer me for saying that, but there it is.

    Hi Everyone,

I love news and always wonder what other people consider good news stories to be. Is anyone here interested in telling me what they think of as a captivating news story??
