“Click it or Ticket”

A special law enforcement program called “Click it or Ticket” is going to start cracking down on people who don’t wear a seatbelt.

I mean, what’s with people that don’t use one? What is the big deal about taking two seconds to buckle the strap and protect yourself from being ejected out of your car if you get into an accident? Or even worse, a lower level accident that sets off your car’s airbag system. Let me tell you, I have had one of those things explode in my face, and you want your body to be as far away from it as possible, not bouncing around the cabin because you aren’t strapped in.

What kills me the most is when I see kids bopping around the backseat without being properly restrained. You will now recieve a hefty fine and a “point” on your record if you don’t put the kiddos in their carseats. And rightly so.

The cities that are conducting the program are: Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, Fullerton, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, La Palma, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Orange, Placentia, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, Westminster and Yorba Linda.

Yorba Linda is on the list which is patrolled by the Brea city police department. In that case, I guess you can add Brea to the list too.
