So, I went to the fair…
I’m always back-and-forth on the fair. Some years it’s all dirty and expensive, and other years, like this one, I have an amazing time. I think the difference must be my frame of mind. We got there mid-day on Friday (before the evening crowds), and did the whole thing very leisurely – saw the animals, went through the shopping buildings, saw the county exhibits, art and photographs, ate a few fried things, and just enjoyed the evening. It helped that the fair wasn’t too crowded or too hot, and that the baby just sat and laughed the whole time.
We enjoyed some fried potato chip/wedges, a hand-dipped ice cream bar, a slice of pizza and corn dog (respectively), and a sticky bun. We also had our refillable cup from the Al concert, and that made drinks only $2.50 instead of $5.00. Nothing else we wanted to do cost more than admission either, so the evening wasn’t expensive. It’s nice to have a good time somewhere that you’ve had a bad time before. Some more pictures are available here.
Wait til your daughter gets older, she will have a blast petting all the animals and doing all the interactive things for the kids. Not to mention the rides, of course!
