Fire in Central OC

With the news of all the other fires in LA and SD, a lot of the big news stations aren’t yet reporting on a fire in Santiago Canyon, near the 241 and 133 toll roads. The Register has the story, and will update throughout the evening. We’re in Eastern Santa Ana near 17th and Tustin Ave, and we can see actual flames and glowing orange smoke coming off it. Scary stuff.

We live in Irvine near the 241 toll road at exit Irvine Blvd. We can not see the flames yet ..but can see smokes and ashes are falling down everywhere. The electricity temporary went out for a few minutes. Pretty hard to breath if you go outside now (8:15pm). Hope it dies down.

The fire can be seen from my house in Lake Forest. We’re discussing over dinner what we’d take if we have to evacuate. Creepy.

We live in Tustin and here there are ashes depending on wind direction. About an hour ago we drove up to see exactly where it was located. We got as far as Irvine Blvd and Yale, hard to breath even in the car and visibility hard to see. They were evacuating all homes up Yale towards the hills, ashes very heavy and very hard to breath.

We live in Northpark Square, between Jamboree and Culver, below Irvine Blvd. I went for a quick ride on the bike to see if I could see anything and there is a lot of smoke and was hard to breathe and see… stay inside people. There are no mandatory evacuations yet, but tune in to AM 1640 emergency radio for latest updates if you are in the Irvine area.
