People don't understand though, that these things aren't free. We do pay for them, with the increase in taxes. Personally I'm a fiscal conservative. We have enough programs we are already paying for and enough money we are already wasting to bail out various groups; mortgages, farmers, and now once again the car industry. I'm sorry some car companies are going to probably go out of business and people will be out of jobs, but I don't see the government bailing me out if my small business goes under. And talking about unemployment, I see a number of businesses hiring, but the problem is most people have too much pride to do the jobs that I see hiring for. Sometimes people have to take baby steps before they can walk again if they get laid off. People would rather get hand outs from the government for unemployment then do something they feel is beneath them...

While I can't honestly say I'm "looking forward" to tax hikes. We NEED tax hikes!! Americans always want shit for free. Obviously, as our economy is telling us, that is NOT possible. Many people (not me) want standardized health care.....for free. Can't happen! Someone has to pay for it. I know taxes suck, but without taxes our country will go into the toilet........wait.......too late. Our government has a long road ahead. Hopefully the tax hikes are enough to save us.

Don't get me wrong I voted for Obama, I just don't think the roads will be repaved with gold and our faucets flow with chocolate milk. Someone is going to pay for all these wonderful things that people think they are going to be getting now that the Dems are in charge, and once people realize they actually have to work for a living and that the government is taking nearly 50% of what they make to help everyone but them, their eyes will open up to how the world really works... I'm just saying.

Touche' Dan. In fairness, I typically consider myself someone who's split down the middle, but for some reason this year, everything (and everyone) I wanted to vote for was pretty democratic. I've also never felt more involved in past elections as I did in this one. I guess I just got excited and wanted everyone to know!

I'd be glad to hear from the other sides though.
