As is not uncommon for me, I had a weekday off today. My big plans for the day included playing WoW, doing laundry and maybe hitting up the grocery store if I felt like living it up. See, I hate having weekdays off because all my friends work during the week, leaving me with no one to play with.
Today, however, my wife decided to play hooky from work! Aside from a little breeze gale force gust here and there, it was really going to be a beautiful day and I was happy it wouldn’t go to waste.

We decided we would head out to Huntington Beach for some lunch at Ruby’s on the pier.
BEST. DECISION. EVER.

Winter in SoCal can be tough.

For those not so good with sarcasm, I’m full of crap! it was an AMAZING day out in Huntington today! There was little to mostly NO wind. Not even on the pier. And as the picture below shows, the water was calmer than most lakes I’ve been on.

It's like glass! I just wanna jump in!

My favorite part though was being able to see the snow capped mountains (where I could be snowboarding) from the beach (where I was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and sandals). There are few places on our planet where this is possible, so I consider myself privileged to be here.

Some people may want their winters to be as cold and white as a morman prop 8 supporter, but for me, it doesn’t get any better than this.
