Saturday night, supercross came to Anaheim Stadium for the second time this year. For those not in the know, supercross is dirt bike racing, and is usually held inside a stadium. For the last 20 or so years, Anaheim Stadium has hosted this spectacular event. In fact, Southern California is really where the sport got catapulted into what it is today. But was it fun?

Hell yes! I really had a great time. As you can see from the pictures, my seats weren’t all that bad either.

When I was much younger, I attended every Supercross race that came to Southern California. Whether it was in Anaheim or at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Supercross has always been something that really does a great job of appealing to all ages. From the autograph sessions, to the option of pit passes, to the intermissions, where they pull folks from the stands to do crazy stunts for prizes.

This coming Saturday Monster Trucks invade the stadium. If you have never seen (and heard) them live, it is quite exciting. The sound of the giant engines reverberate off the stadium walls and you can feel it in your chest. If monster trucks aren’t your thing, Supercross is coming back to Anaheim the following Saturday, February 7th, for round 5 of their series. Supercross always holds rounds 1, 3 and 5 here in Orange County. A brief search brought up a $45 ticket for the race, and as with any sporting event, the closer you want to sit, the higher the price.

If you ever decide to attend an event such as Supercross, monster trucks or something similar, I would highly recommend you spend the little bit of extra money for the “pit pass.” It allows you to see the area where they work on the vehicles, get up next to the vehicles, meet the drivers/riders and there are always free things to get from the pits as well.

A special thank you for my friend Jo and her husband for getting me the amazing tickets I had. It was so much fun to relive my youth. Maybe I’ll do it again on the 7th!

I’ve provided a few of my favorite pictures from the race

This cost me $24. No joke.

You know your seats are good when the riders sit next to you before and after they race.
