Beagle Bucks!

Knott’s Berry Farm has had a lot of firsts. The first theme park in America, the first modern log flume ride of its kind, and the first steel upside-down roller-coaster come to mind. There was once a time when Knott’s was a pioneer in theme park attractions but alas those days are gone. Proof of that can be noted when you gaze upon the incredibly cute/clever but not very unique Beagle Bucks. They’re not a particularly novel innovation since they simply scream HEY-LOOK-AT-ME-I’M-RIPPING-OFF-DISNEY-DOLLARS!!!

I like Snoopy, so never mind the unoriginality, they are still kinda neat-o! There are a few downfalls though:

  1. They are not easy to buy (you have to go to KBF Guest Services).
  2. Unlike Disney Dollars, Beagle Bucks will expire at the end of each calendar year – so use ‘em or lose ‘em.
  3. They’re kinda cheap looking.

Still what could be more fun than paying for your tasty and delicious Mrs. Knott’s chicken dinner with genuine Doggie Dough Beagle Bucks? OK, so maybe it’s more thrilling for me (the Peanuts obsessed nut job that I am) than the rest of the free world. It’s the small joys that get me through.

I’m not sure if Knott’s can legally expire the Beagle Bucks, since gift certificates in California cannot expire…

You know, I was wondering about that. I should try and spend one of my 2008 series to see if they’ll take it.
