Disney Removes 1,900 Jobs at American Parks

“F” stands for Fired! Disney has handed out about 1,200 “F” tickets to Cast Members on both coasts recently. The remaining 700 hundred positions were removed through attrition.

The Las Angeles Times reports that The Walt Disney Company has “eliminated about 1,900 jobs at its domestic parks” and around “300 [of those] jobs will be cut from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim”.

Sigh. It looks like the other Orange County really took it in the shorts! Still, no matter where the jobs were taken, it’s a sad thing. How can a person live in Orange County on unemployment compensation alone? Is that even possible?

To those who have been affected by the layoffs: Stay strong! Our thoughts are with you all!
