As I was leaving the Irvine Spectrum Center this afternoon, I saw this. Seriously? You can’t put your cart in the cart return? The best you can do is beside the cart return.

    I’m a recent transplant from Seattle where we’re known for being *so polite* that to honk at someone who cuts you off is considered an act of road rage. We prefer to glare passive aggressively and silently pray for swift karmic retribution on the offending driver…pales in comparison to the driving here. And yet, of all the differences I’ve noted in my 14 days in OC, the thing that has bewildered me the most is the egregious lack of shopping cart etiquette. Back home, the icy stares of other shoppers as they check their Prius doors for dings are enough to deter me from cart abandonment even if I’m in a big rush or feeling lazy…guess that’s not the case here.
