Hellooooo South County!

Well it’s official.  I am now a South County resident.  Due to the wife and I both being in school, she just quit her job and I have dropped to part-time, we have moved in with her parents for a few months.

So now I am a Dana Point resident!  In fact, I’m just a mile or so away from our very own pittrolie!

My question for our readers is, what is there to do down here??  I am familiar with the area, as the wife lived in Laguna Niguel when we started dating, and her parents have lived here the whole time, but I have never found anything really fun.  Can you help?

    Welcome to the ‘hood, Dave. We’re still exploring DP and the surrounding area ourselves, but Turks (DP Harbor) and Swallows Inn (SJC) are fun.

    @Tracy- Thanks! I’ll give those a shot!

    @Gina- Of all the South County areas I could live in, DP isn’t bad. The people around here have always been really chill in my experience. It’s like a high class, less “bro” Huntington Beach. Plus I’m only a temp anyway.

    @Darin- I know! But the 2 times I’ve attempted surfing, I’ve been TERRIBLE. Though in my defense, I never had an instructor and I’m not sure the boards were really good for learning. But I’m also a puss when it comes to cold water…..and no surfers……65 is NOT warm!!!

    It’s been a while since I lived in O.C. but always found some great bike trails up in the Anaheim Hills.

    DP was a sleepy burp 15 years ago, and i hope its picked up a little for your sale.
