Gabby Gaborno is a hard man to pin down. Between doing shows with Manic Hispanic and Flock Of Goo Goo he also carves out some time to be in this little band that goes by the name of the Cadillac Tramps. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Tramps work, they play blues influenced punk. Think Social Distortion with a bit more soul. Rated #17 on the OC Weekly’s 129 Greatest OC Bands, they were on the verge of being extremely huge in the early 90’s. I mean, they opened for Pearl Jam a few times. I’m pretty sure that had to mean something.

They disbanded in the mid-90’s after Gabby went to jail, but reunited in 1999. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them half a dozen times since then and they’ve always been great. I’d go so far as to say that they put on one of the best live shows in the county. If you’ve got nothing to do on the first Thursday in January, give the show a go. You won’t be sorry.
