Newly wedded in my home town…

For all of you who missed me, I thought I’d let both of you know I just got back. I’ve been gone for a couple of weeks after Vicky and I tied the knot.

And what does that have to do with Orange County? Everything, I say! I’m native OC through and thru… try as I might… Vicky and I might be living in Anaheim but it was my pleasure to be married in beautiful Santa Ana!

I said, “Beautiful Santa Ana.”

It is, too!

Okay, in all seriousness, I didn’t expect it. Vicky had to talk me into it. We drove up 17th to College and, well, having outlived the Mitchell Brother’s Theater I knew the neighborhood pretty well. My first thought when we parked was, “Do they have security?” (They do.)

We walked inside and, sure enough, beautiful Santa Ana. It was amazing.

I’m talking about The Hacienda. Call this a shameless plug if you will but they deserve it. From our first visit there, they treated us right. The price was extremely reasonable. The people was great. And if you don’t know about the food, they have a Sunday Brunch you should treat yourself to.

They let us run late without a grumble. Tended to our every need. Let us use the entire facility when no one else booked that night. They even packed us each a meal for later – who has time to eat at their own wedding?

They made our wedding something amazing. (Props to my bride, though, it was her doing.) If I could cast my vote for “Best Place to Get Married in Orange County”, I’d have to give it to The Hacienda.

    Indeed, congrats!

As a resident, Santa Ana gets a bad rap. It’s really a city with a lot of history and charm.

I agree, Mike. But if I can’t give my hometown a bad time…
