Suggestions for the Birthday Boy

Tomorrow my son turns eighteen. That’s right, I’ve survived eighteen years of fatherhood – and he has survived the meager parenting skills my wife and I have been able to muster.

Here’s the challenge: I’m looking for a unique way to celebrate his birthday. I’m tired of the usual stuff – family dinners, all-night parties, and the like – I’m searching for something unique. The only requirements are that it be something that he’s likely to enjoy. Oh yeah, it needs to be legal. And I don’t have much time …

    What about indoor go-karts? It’s supposed to be a lot of fun, like a grown-up version of kiddie go-karts at miniature golf places. I’ve never been, just heard good things.

    A little last minute, but you can see if an any ice rinks will let you rent out broom ball. Or if you want, there’s always paintballing (camp pendelton, jungle island).
