Go Early and Beat The Crowds
The wifey and I stopped by the new Bob’s Big Boy (in Orange) for breakfast this morning at 8 AM and we were the only ones in the joint. If there is a lesson to be learned from this, it is go early and beat the rush! As for the breakfast itself, it was… interesting. Not my cup of tea coffee really.
Have you had breakfast at Bob’s? What did you think?
What didn’t you like about it? Generally I’m not a fan of any kind of major chain food. In-N-Out burger excepted. I guess they’re not “major” as they are regional.
It’s not a MAJOR chain but yes I prefer mom n’ pop places too. I had Eggs Benedict and it was oddly spicy and sort of unpleasantly greasy.
Speaking only for the Bob’s in Toluca Lake, the breakfast is….eh…..at best. If I’m in the mood and I’m there I usually eat the french toast.
Have you tried the chili spaghetti yet?
I’ve had that at Zippy’s ( http://www.zippys.com/ ) in Hawaii but not tried it at Bob’s. Zippy’s rocks my socks!
I had the Chili spaghetti at the one in Burbank or is it the Toluca Lake one? Are they the same? I used to live not too far from it. Good stuff after a few cocktails :)
We must have been neighbors Dawn! I grew up 1 block from the Burbank/Toluca Lake one (they are the same).
Since we’re plugging favorite breakfast places. Mine is Pamela’s – http://www.pamelasrestaurants.com/. The President even loves Pamela’s: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09145/972563-46.stm
I also really like Petunia’s (no website I could find) in New Orleans.
